Looking for Alibrandi
As soon as you pick up this book, you are not going to want to put it down. It is unique and passionate, unlike many other books I have read before. There are 32 chapters, and from 1-32 I was memorised by the content within the book. When reading the story I was so drawn in that it actually felt like I was there. That I could feel the charaters feelings and emotions throughout it. There were many deep, meanigful scenes, sad scenes, funny scenes and not to mention there was also a hint of romance in it. Looking for Alibrandi is about a 17 year old girl who has an Italian heritage. She lives in Sydney, Australia and goes to a private catholic school, which she got entry to via scolarship. She is different from other girls as she has a completely different culture and different set of rules to live by. Before Josie was born her father had left her mother to go to Adelaide to become a barrister, leaving Christina in shame as all of her relatives look down their nose upon her. It wasn't a good thing becoming pregnant when you weren't married or going to be married in eyes of her Italian friends and ancestors. And so both lived there life with the stares and comments from the people around them. I recommend you should read this book. In my opinion it is so unique in it's own way, and you will want to re-read it again and again!
